Sport At Waist Height
I’m Joe I am 20 and was born with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus, I’ve had multiple surgeries all before my 12th birthday. I’m paralysed below the knees with less control and strength in my legs than normal.
I keep as active as I can and love all sports, Cycling, Rugby and Netball are my favourite. I went to my first Leicester Tigers game when I was 4 and have been a massive fan ever since.
I always wanted to cycle, but because of my disabilities I couldn’t ride a normal bike. It took ages to find something I could ride, but just before the 1st lockdown I was lucky enough to get my ICE Trike. This changed my life! It’s given me more independence than I had ever had before and got me to places I could never have got to otherwise.
In May 22, I completed the C2C challenge riding from Whitehaven to Sunderland and raised over £6000 for MND and SHINE charities. My current challenge is to ride 321km from Brockenhurst to Dover in 3 days, raising money for cancer research along the way.

About the Trip
